Elena Hart has one secret: she can understand horses. When her family falls on hard times, she becomes a palace maid and meets Ivory—a precious white colt refusing to eat, wrongly diagnosed with a fatal plague. While everyone prepares to put him down, Elena hears him cursing loudly: "It's just my horseshoes! They pinch!" She risks her life to speak up, saves the colt, and catches the eye of the kingdom's wounded Third Prince, Adrian.
