Betrayed by her childhood sweetheart at the Golden Rose ceremony, Elena Vale impulsively marries a mute beggar. Three years later, pregnant and still scorned by her ex, she is abducted and nearly forced to lose her child—until her husband returns with the Royal Guard. The “beggar” is Xavier Roland, the rightful king. As buried treason comes to light, Elena rises beside him as queen and finally takes control of her own fate.
