On their wedding day, sea‑realm commander Theron rips mermaid Lorelei’s life‑core Mermaid Heart from her chest to save dying Portia. He also takes her eyes and abandons her in the deadly Black Trench. Desperate, Lorelei casts a forbidden rite to erase all love‑filled memories of him and dissolves into moon‑salt sand. Five years later, she is reborn blind and weak in a remote reef village. Fallen and poisoned, a ruined Theron begs for redemption, but she no longer knows him.
