Seren, a beast‑woman with a naturally low body temperature, is abandoned by her mate Kaelen and sent as a captive to the hostile Blackcliff clan. She guards a cracked egg and gains protection from Draven, the enemy chief. Against all odds, the egg hatches into rare twin hatchlings. Kaelen realizes Seren once saved his life and begs for reconciliation, only to be rejected. He later dies in war. Letting go of the past, Seren builds a warm new life with Draven and their children.
