Freya, the eldest legitimate daughter of House Winterborne, was betrayed by her fiancé Julian and her sister Sigrid on her wedding day—and met a gruesome death on the night the Blood Moon rose. After being reborn with the advantage of foreknowledge, she was stripped of her inheritance by her family, only to use her space ability to stockpile supplies and build an impregnable fortress. She saved the vampire Silas and forged an alliance with him. When the Blood Moon descended and the world fell into eternal night, House Blackwood, goaded by the traitor witch Morrigan, sought to devour the four great houses. Freya united the vampires, Fenrir the Silver Moon Wolf King, and the survivors of House Greene to stand against the legions of the undead and vampires. Fenrir led the wolf clan in a self-detonation to carve a path to survival. In the end, Freya fused fire, life, and vampire power to summon the Blood Griffin, defeat Morrigan, and be crowned queen—the guardian of peace among all races.
