A modern office worker wakes in 1982 as a forest ranger and gains two impossible gifts: she can understand animals, and every creature she saves earns her supplies from the future. With weasels, sables, field mice, and an entire forest as her allies, she battles poachers, blizzards, and village suspicion. Alongside a stern security captain, she turns the wilderness into a home worth protecting.
