Sophie Rossi has been in a seven‑year‑long relationship with Dominic, a New Jersey mafia boss, and they are about to get married. However, she discovers that her fiancé’s heart has always belonged to her elder sister, Vivian. At the wedding, Dominic even has his sister walk down the aisle with him and take photos wearing Sophie’s wedding dress. Sophie is barely featured in their wedding photos. Her heart finally broken, Sophie flees the wedding right in front of five hundred guests, leaving Dominic alone to face the farcical ceremony. After leaving, she meets Julian, a publisher who truly respects her, and feelings gradually blossom between them. Only after losing her does Dominic realize her worth. He desperately tries to win her back but gets rejected time and again. In the end, Sophie holds her own wedding with Julian and embraces a bright new life, while Dominic has lost forever the girl who waited for him for seven years.
