In the Brazilian Amazon, a poacher is devoured by a golden Buddha statue—one of seven ancient seals hidden across the world. Former Foreign Legion mercenary Ah Hao joins a gold-mining crew and discovers that seven mines lie atop geomagnetic anomalies, each imprisoning a primordial gold god. As his companions are turned into gold, he learns that his employer, Chen, plans to sacrifice them—and that Ah Hao's blood is both the key to the seal and the weapon against the god. Ah Hao sacrifices himself to reseal the deity and take Chen down with him. Three months later, Ah Ling carries his gold fragment from Angkor Wat to Egypt and Peru, battling the Red Gold Society to stop the seven seals from collapsing one by one.
